We aim not to waste food and endeavour to dispose of as little as possible. Naturally we also sort waste and are also planning to cooperate with a food bank. But this project is still in its infancy.
At the same time we are switching, where possible, to recyclable packaging, straws or recyclable paper. It has recently come to light that there is a problematic amount of plastics and other difficult to process materials in nature and this has to be effectively addressed.
We also source local ingredients. Nowadays, it is important to use foods without thousands of food miles or have been ripened in unnatural conditions or that have been unnecessarily deep-frozen. And looked at from a different perspective there are obvious benefits, for everyone, to support our local farmers and producers. Recently we have gained our own greengrocer, who takes care of sourcing quality fruits and vegetables from local sources.
These plans are important to be maintained in the long term, so we aim to stand firm in our commitment.
